Beautyuk False Lash FX Mascara

I'm always on the hunt for a perfect drugstore mascara that gives carbon black fluttery lashes so when I received this little gem from beautyuk to review, I was excited to try it out!

I like the white packaging! Let's look at a close up of the wand

The bristles are plastic and are longer on one side than the other
Here are some pictures of it in action! On the left are my naked lashed which have been curled, and on the right is with one, two and three coats of the mascara

What was my verdict? It's not a 'wet' mascara, instead it actually feels quite dry which I liked as it allowed me to build up layers without my lashes clumping together however I wouldn't say it gave me lashes akin to wearing falsies. It did give length and separation to my lashes however I would have liked more volume. All in all for the money I think this would be a good everyday choice for mascara. It's not a high maintenance mascara, and by that I mean you don't have to worry about clumping or applying too much in one sweep, which I think makes it a good option for the work day.
This Beautyuk False Lash FX mascara costs £3.99 and is available from Superdrug or on the beautyuk website.

Guest Post: Spring Lips

Hey everyone!!
It’s not Heather here today, we have swapped blogs but don’t worry - it’s just for one post!  My name is Gemma, I have a little blog called The Lipgloss Lily and I have a severe addiction to makeup!  I especially love bright colours and now that Spring is here I can finally get into my favourite lipsticks!
So I thought I would just give you a quick list of my favourite lip colours for this season and I‘ve picked ones under £5.00 so everyone can try them!

The first is this ELF lip stick in the colour Captivating:

This colour really isn’t for the faint hearted!!!  It’s a gorgeous, brilliant orange colour that I have been hunting for, for ages!  I tried loads that were either very muted or very pink toned but this one goes on your lips as the colour you see in the picture!  You could probably fab it on with a brush on your finger for a lighter colour but I really like it this way.  I think it looks really nice with really soft make up and light, peach cheeks!

If you’re not too keen on that bold of a colour then you could try the Barry M Lip Paint in 151 Sunset:

This is a really pretty coral colour!  It’s a kind of deep reddish/pink with orange undertones and it does looks a lot more orange in this picture than it does in real life!  It’s a kind of alternative to a red lip as it’s still quite a bold colour but one you can wear during the day!  This is my favourite lipstick at the moment!

The next one is a really pretty lip stain from ELF in the colour “Birthday Suit”:

This is such a cute, girly colour.  I have always been a bit wary of lip stains as most I’ve tried have either dried my lips out or not worked but this one seems to do the trick!  It lasts for ages and comes in a nice packaging that’s easy to carry around anyway.  It also comes with a lip gloss so you can use that if you’re not a fan of the matte look on your lips.  This is a really easy colour to wear and looks great with simple black liner.

The next one is an MUA lipstick in Shade 12:

This is a darker pink than the last one but also has a slight glitter to it which is soo nice!  I only got this one the other day but I’ve already had it on a couple of times and it’s really pretty without looking like you’ve just been kissing Edward Cullen! The swatch above is just one swipe but you can definitely build this colour up to get a darker, more opaque colour which is what I’ve been doing.  It’s just a nice alternative to a normal lipstick!

The last one is yet another ELF one (can you tell I’m a bit obsessed?!) and it’s a lip stick in the colour Gypsy:

Now this is a slightly darker pink so maybe not an obvious choice for Spring but I think that with a gloss on top this is such a fun, bright colour.  It’s a slighty deeper shade of pink, almost plummy kind of and if you just put this on your lips then it is kind of dark.  What I do it put my ELF base or concealer on my lips first, then the lipstick using my finger and then a lipgloss.  It gives such a soft, pretty colour and I think it looks gorgeous.  It also smells great which a bonus haha is!

So I hope this gives you some ideas for affordable lipsticks this Spring and that you’ve enjoyed reading this post as much as I have enjoyed writing it!  If you want to check out my blog or the post that Heather has done for it then please click here – www.thelipglosslily.blogspot.com!

The Boyfriend Tag

Hello!

I have something as bit different for you today!  I finally convinced my boyfriend Darren to appear on camera (I think he secretly enjoyed it!) and we did 'The Boyfriend Tag' that's been doing the rounds on YouTube.

I hope you like it, there are some pretty funny bloopers at the end which might give you a giggle! :)
